yes it is a great change after years of working so hard. I love your list. It has taken me 5 years to get to some projects and I still find that I am rushing on occasion. If and when I clean -- I go HARD. I want it done and dusted. Off the list. If I slow down I lose momentum and don't want to finish so it is my fav music on loud and I work hard.
Oscar is a doll! Who wouldn't love to spend more time with him? It sounds like you are enjoying doing things at your own pace. That is one of the things I love most about retirement too.
Sounds like you have retirement sussed. I think we're so conditioned to our working lives that it's hard to see how we'll fill our days when we retire. But as you so rightly point out, retirement is about doing more of what you love whenever you want to do it. I think having time is such a wonderful gift and I'm pleased you're really enjoying this stage of your life. You've earned it!
My husband retired before me, Jen but I'm not sure he perfected retirement before I did. It is a shock to the system when we retire especially if we have worked for many years. What do we do with our time? Should we be doing something more productive? I like to find a balance and I love your 'perfecting retirement' whilst waiting for your husband to retire. Thanks for sharing with us at #WWWhimsy and enjoy your week. x
Life will probably be much different when we are both retired Sue, but I'm sure it will still be great. I really can't wait to spend more time together.
Hi Jennifer - retirement is such a joy isn't it? I was always so impressed with the amount of travel/work time you put in each week....but never envious. Once I discovered the beauty of free time and not fitting my life in around work, I never envied anyone's job ever again. Welcome to the club.
I agree with you about Oscar Christie. Good to hear that you're also enjoying the retirement life.
More time for life ... that's the joy.
Thanks Jo, and yes it is.

Thank you Sam. The best thing is not having to rush to get everything done. All in my own time these days.

I imagine we will be very similar when my partner retires, Denyse. He's not quite ready yet, but will know when it's time.
