I have heard the Camino is more than a trail, but rather a spiritual journey. With all the things that had happen in my life, if I had the time, I would have done the Camino. One day I will do it regardless where I am in life, good or bad.
I suspect I would struggle to find the movie. I think I could walk the Camino but my other half is seriously not interested and we aren't, and may never be, the type to travel alone. We do a lot of travel and always find somewhere we both want to see. Life is often about the compromises we make and it seems like that's what happened when you got home. Time constraints and compromises plus grief. Bernie
You’ve said it exactly as it was Bernie. I heard yesterday that the movie is at Canne Film Festival and is being sold internationally. So you never know, it could come your way
Would your other half be interested in biking one of the trails of the Camino, or one of the trail sections. There are so many different Camino trails to choose from, and very diverse accommodation options.
What an achievement that you completed the Camino de Santiago! When I was in Portugal last year, I saw the directional symbols and people who walked the Camino there. Thank you for sharing the book and movie with us at #weekendcoffeeshare.
I'd love to do the Camino. Hopefully will. I think tho, also, sometimes life has other palns for us and maybe just the yearning is enough. I don't know. You were lucky to get as much as you did. Sorry about your Dad. It's a hard one. Will track down this movie. #WWWhimsy
Take my hat off to this amazing woman … shes an inspiration not only to herself but people she comes into contact with. Great memories for you good and bad All I can say is keep being you
Hi, Jennifer - Thank you so much for sharing this film. I hadn't heard about it, nor the book. I just looked both up and could not find the book here on Audible or at my libary. I will do a deeper search to see if I can stream the movie somehow. I would love to see it.
As you know, I just finished my 7th Camino (or 5th depending on how you count them). :D For the most recent Camino, my husband and I began walking this past June 1, the same as your Camino anniversary.
We met such a diverse mixture of walker. One man with dementia was successfuly walking the trail with his wife. Another man was walking with a CPAP machine (due to a breathing disorder) and others had a a long list of illnesses and ailments. Still, all who we encountered remained incredibly positive. It was immensely inspiring!
Hi Jennifer, I have to admit that I had not heard of the Camino! It took me a while to realise it was a walk you were talking about. The book and the movie sound like they'd be fabulous! You surprise me with these things you've done in your past. What an amazing experience and achievement! I'm sure the movie brought back many memories for you. Thank you for linking up with #WWWhimsy - hope you're having a wonderful week! xo
Thanks Min. I’ve blogged about this many times over the years and do sometimes forget that there are readers out there who wouldn’t be aware. It was an amazing experience
Hi Jennifer I saw recently a fiction about the Camino which I'm going to look into. What a wonderful experience you had and an achievement. I've been following Donna and Richard on their current Camino in Portugal which they have now completed. x
I must read that book. It’s something I’ve flirted with the idea of doing but always seem to find reasons why I wouldn’t be able to do it…& admire those who have.

The Camino can be a very spiritual journey. I think it depends where you are in life, and it’s different for everyone.
That’s good to hear Julie. Looking forward to your Camino is part of the experience

I have thought about biking it Donna. Definitely an option
I have also thought about the bike option. I think that would make it doable.
The were many bikers on the Camino when I was there. They did struggle in the mud at times but seemed to be having fun

If I do another it will probably be the Portugal Camino

It’s so true that sometimes the yearning is enough. Hope you enjoy the movie if you get to see it
I definitely want to see this movie, Jen! Thanks for telling me about it. I hope I can find it in the U.S.
I hope you can see it Christie. I’m sure you would enjoy it
