Your Iris flowers are just stunning Jen and I'm sure they do bring you joy. We are working on our garden and although I'm not a green thumb I'm finding joy in our garden project. #teamwwwhimsy x

They are glorious in shapes and colours Jennifer. They would make my day too seeing what has bloomed. A garden, of any size, has the potential for joy!

It certainly does Denyse, and I think the same even if the garden doesn’t belong to me.

Oh Jennifer, be still my heart! I love, love, love my irises. When we moved to this house 17 years ago I couldn't believe all the different irises. The following year I started to document them on my blog and called it the iris parade. I had about 50 varieties but many have died, or I've given them away. I also have reduced the iris areas. This year I only had 35 showed up not counting the one that is blooming now! In 2023, 41 different ones showed up but still many I had purchased over the years didn't appear. Anyway, hoping next year will be even better. But now I can enjoy yours until them. And like you, every morning I'd get up before my first cup of tea, and go and to see who had shown up. For me right now lots of things bring me joy: the changing tree colors, my art, and just waking up every day. Thanks for the post!

Lynda your post has brought me much joy today. I also gave away many of my irises. I had over 120 varieties when we had a large country property. I would love you to have seen them as an iris lover. When we moved we brought a minimun number here to this smaller garden. ‘The Iris parade” - I love it. Thanks for appreciating my irises

There is a house on my dog walk that plants the most AMAZING roses. I literally stop and smell the roses. It's my favourite thing! Your flowers are lovely! And I do think noticing the small joys makes a difference.

Thanks Lydia. I love the old roses for their smell Lydia. I can’t see the point of modern roses that don’t have a perfume.
