I occasionally publish a Taking Stock post, usually just when I remember, and it can be a bit hit and miss at times. However, I am now planning one for the end of each quarter. This is the first quarterly post.
Choosing: To start crochet again, which I haven’t done since I was a teenager, and am loving it again.
Drinking: Always coffee and water
Enjoying: A few days at Halls Gap in the Grampians
Feeling: Sad still, about the death of my friend late last year
Happy: A week away at Bright was a happy time as I felt that finally I had my bike riding legs back.
Busy: Keeping up with four blogs, but I love blogging, so I’m happy with the
busy-ness of it.
Following: Many wonderful blogs that I treasure every time I visit
Knowing: How fortunate I am to be living a fabulous and joyous life
Liking: Very much that Women Over 50 Living Well invited me to be a guest on her podcast. Click on the image below if you would like to listen.
Looking: Forward to more fun times in 2025
Grumpy: That the dreaded winter is coming
Making: The best of having a knee injury and working my way around it.
Planning: And drafting posts for the AtoZ challenge which has now started
Reading: In the first quarter of 2025, I have read 43 books
Smiling: All week while we were at Kangaroo Island having a week away
Loving: My 4am gym sessions. It’s the perfect time for me
Marvelling: That I’m still able to cycle long distances and planning to continue and
make more improvements
Laughing: Every day at Oscar. He’s a very funny boy
Happy: To be a guest on Andrew’s Family Histories Podcast, where I told the story of my 2x great grandfather.
Needing: To walk everyday and continue with strength exercises for the benefit they are to my knee
Noticing: That the summer of 2025 was hotter than we have had for quite a few years
Wishing: The world would settle down and people would be kind to each other
And a Little Something Else
This week Sue Women Over 50 Living Well wrote a piece about ageing that had me shouting - yes! yes! yes. I agreed with all that was written and much of it had been on my mind lately.
As Sue’s words were sinking in my thoughts went to another way to live your life, no matter what age you are, rather than trying to look young and perfect. The following words came to me which describe the way I like to live my life.
I have no regard at all to keeping up with others, or even concerning myself with what others do. My days of comparing myself to them are long gone. From now on, you will see these words on my newsletter as my mantra. Thanks for the inspiration Sue.
This post is linked to Wednesday Words & Whimsy (#WWWhimsy linkup), hosted by Min from Write of the Middle. I’m more than happy to be on Min’s Team - #TeamWWWhimsy. Min, thank you for all you do to keep this challenge going. It’s a highlight for me, on the blogging calendar each week.
And I am on the opposite end of the spectrum where I am giddy that summer is on its way!
This is a great way to catch up Jen and your podcast interview was fabulous. A fitting mantra for all of us and you are living life your way and enjoying it all which is the best way to be!
