One of the things I love most about Substack is the incredible community of talented writers who share their knowledge, experiences, and thoughts here every day. The platform has become a treasure trove for discussing topics that resonate deeply with me, and which I’d like to share with my friends here.
I hope you find something here that takes your interest and that you enjoy reading. You may even find something that makes you laugh or better still, that makes you stop and think.
So settle down and relax, perhaps with a coffee or cup of tea, and kick your weekend off by catching up with some great writing that you may have missed during the week.
Wellgevity Warrior - Ageing Strong Without Heavy Lifting
I have been involved with weight training for decades, and often come up against misconceptions when people think weight training has to mean lifting heavy weights, as a body builder would. This is a great read for anyone with an interest in this topic.
All that and a Bag of Chips - Procrastination
I can be a procrastinator, and usually look at it as being a bad thing. This article puts a different spin on procrastinating.
Midlife Mess With Annie Scott - Do You (secretly) Want to Join a Commune
I can’t say that I’ve ever really thought about but it’s an interesting thought. Annie gives us lots to think about here.
Road Trip to Younger Magazine - The Girl’s Own Guide to Weight Lifting After 50
Lots of information here about the importance of weight lifting for women over 50
Reimagining Retirement: Firm Identity
I loved this article about what life is, and can be in our senior years
Women Living Well After 50 with Sue Loncaric: Thursdays Thought - Ageing is Not a Loss - it’s Time to Let Go and Bloom
Sue’s thoughts about ageing are always worth thinking about. A link to her podcast is also included.
Story Crumbs: BKD Cook Book Club - June
Author Jo Tracey’s Cook Book Club topic for June is comfort food. My favourite!

I'm loving your Saturday Spotlight, Jen and some I subscribe to but there are a couple I hadn't heard of but will certainly follow up. I'm honoured that you included me in this week's Substack Gems. Have a beautiful week. xx
