My adopted city that I now call home is known for it’s beautiful parks and gardens, and this time of the year is extra special. The Bendigo Bloom Festival springs into action every year, from September until November with beautiful floral displays and other events around the city.
The biggest drawcard are the colourful tulips in the Conservatory Gardens and around the CBD. This year is the 21st year of it’s stunning display of over 50,000 tulips. They are blooming in flower pots around the city, in the central parks and gardens, and also scattered around suburban parks. Along with tulips there is food, wine, comedy and many other events.
A few days, ago we went for a stroll to see the tulips, that are now flowering. They are stunning and a great drawcard to this city. When they have finished flowering, and the festival is over, locals are given the opportunity to bring their spades, and dig up a bag full of tulip bulbs to take home and plant in their garden. Every year the queue for this is huge.
Conservatory
The main display of tulips is in the Conservatory Gardens which is overshadowed by the historic Bendigo Conservatory which was built in 1897. Throughout the year there are floral displays but they are always extra special at tulip time. There are no tulips in the conservatory, but there are beautiful colourful displays of spring flowers.

Now that has sparked my Joy, Jennifer with your beautiful photos of Bendigo Blooms. I might just have to share it in one of my Sparks of Joy posts. Thank you for making my day. Sue #TeamWWWhimsy
